Janet Kelly (1947-2021) was one of the founders of the Jackson Heights knitting group and she taught knitting at the Catherine Sheridan Senior Center. She also served as the director of the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, was the leader of the garden club, which was very involved in beatifying the community and improving 34th Avenue, and was a key organizer of the annual Children’s Halloween Parade in Jackson Heights.
