Firefighter William Henry Avenue

Firefighter William Henry (1952-2001) was a 20-year veteran of the FDNY when he was killed during fire and rescue operations at the World Trade Center following the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Known as "Buddy" to his friends, Henry was a member of FDNY Rescue 1 and often volunteered in the soup kitchen of St. Francis of Assisi church. He lived in Springfield Gardens at the time of his death.
