H. Jacob (Jack) Breininger (1894-1979) moved to Lyman Street in 1927 and was a notable civic leader. He organized the Creedmore Civic Association and served as its president from 1936 until 1963. Active in several civic associations, he was president of the Kiwanis Club of Bellerose-Queens Village and a member of the American Legion, for 59 years.
